Engine testing and certification is an important part of any R&D process. Relied on by the automotive industry and other manufacturers to ensure reliability, compliance, and performance, the use of engine test stands presents a challenge: How can you control the pollutants?

Though engine test facilities may help reduce the environmental impact in the long-term, your operation relies on running an engine in place. Engine testing requires combustion, combustion creates Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs), and VOCs and HAPs need to be controlled.

For decades, The CMM Group has been a trusted provider of air pollution control solutions for facilities that use engine test stands. Whether you are a manufacturer and third-party testing facility, you need efficient, consistent, and cost-effective ways to control pollutants and we’re here to help.

Pollution Control Solutions for Engine Test Facilities

Engine testing is a vital process in the research, development, and manufacturing of any vehicle. With recent evolutions in the automotive world, the process of understanding how engines work in specific environments to ensure that promises are kept.

With regulatory compliance a necessity for these companies, many companies have put their trust in The CMM Group to deliver pollution control abatement products and services.

Energy Recovery and Auxiliary Services

In addition to the pollution control products and services we deliver for our engine test facility clients, we can also help you get more from your pollution control initiatives.

Energy Recovery

Energy Recovery Systems from The CMM Group can be incorporated into new air pollution control systems (APCS) or other high temperature emitting devices), or be retrofit or added to an existing process.

Our energy recovery systems utilize the 100°C (212°F) to 815°C (1,500°F) of heat energy (depending on the heat emitting technology in use) that would normally be exhausted directly into the atmosphere through an industrial ventilation unit.

From here, this clean, heated air can be used for a variety of applications including ambient comfort heat or to provide process heat to another application. We specialize in air-to-air, air-to-liquid, and air to waste heat boiler energy systems. Learn more about our energy recovery services here.

Project Management and Consulting

The CMM Group also delivers project management and consulting services for engine test facilities. To meet specific project needs and requirements, The CMM Group’s professional engineers will consult with your company and thoroughly study your operation.

When you work with The CMM Group, we provide a broad range of services were including assistance with permits, site preparation, on-site supervision, civil work (concrete, structural steel and access road design), ductwork, control and power wiring, plumbing, dust collection hoods and cartridge systems, landscaping and compliance testing.

Emergency Parts and Service

The CMM Group provides emergency parts and service for most equipment makes and models, along with troubleshooting, maintenance, installation, repair and rebuild evaluations via expert technicians and CMM professional engineers.

Comply, Control, and Compete More Effectively: The CMM Group Can Help

The CMM Group has worked with dozens of companies in the automotive industry to create air pollution abatement products that can reduce emissions, bring you within compliance requirements, and position your facility for success. When deciding what system to use, consider the utility costs, facility layout, regulatory requirements, and current VOC emission levels.

We can design, manufacture, and install a custom pollution control solution for your business, as well as working to improve your facility design for increased pollution control efficiency.
